The goal of the iPACT project is to provide effective and sustained professional development activities for school administrators in order for them to help improve student skills and knowledge through the integration of technology and the use of research-based engaged learning instructional strategies.
- To increase the overall student CRT average score for the schools participating in the project.
- Teachers in participating schools will increase their utilization of technology-based engaged learning activities to enhance instruction in the classroom.
- Students will be more engaged in school instructional activities.

Today we will be making a group presentation with Google Presentations that will rock! Students will observe, identify, photograph and research their rock sample, then build one slide in a presentation built by the entire class of for all of the rock samples. At South Elementary in Iron County, we worked with 5th Graders from Mr. Sahagun's class. The iPACT Activity focused on math standard 3 objective 1: Describe relationships between two- and three-dimensional shapes and analyze attributes and properties of geometric shapes. To facilitate this, we used Google SketchUp, a free 3D modeling program, to work with and manipulate 3D shapes and to identify the 2D shapes which makes them up.
The students started with this SketchUp template file and these shapes:

Students from East Elementary in Washington County created their own story problems in their math class. We then helped them put all of their work together in one place and let them enhance each of their problems with some images, drawings, or video that they found.
